How to Remove Bloatware from Windows PC
New Windows PCs come loaded with pre-installed software that slows performance. Removing it can significantly improve speed.
Identify Bloatware
Common bloatware includes manufacturer utilities, trial antivirus software, and pre-installed games. Check Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
Use Windows Built-in Tools
Right-click unwanted apps in Start Menu and select Uninstall. For stubborn programs, use Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
Remove Browser Extensions
Check each browser extension settings and remove anything you did not install. Reset browser settings if toolbars persist.
Disable Startup Programs
Open Task Manager, go to Startup tab, disable unnecessary programs. This can dramatically improve boot times.
Clean Up
Run Disk Cleanup to remove leftover files. Enable Storage Sense for automatic cleanup.
